Our technology
Computer Imaging
A digital photograph of your smile is taken at the consultation and manipulated on-screen using a high spec graphics program. Your direct feedback as the design develops allows us to create and refine the image of your ideal smile in front of your eyes. We take great care to show you only predictable results.
X-Ray & CT-Scan
The London Smile Clinic has invested in a state-of-the-art digital OPG and CT scanner with Cephalometric arm. This allows us to take very clear 3D and 2D images for advanced diagnosis and treatment planning at a very low x-ray dose. Patients benefit from precise virtual 3d planning that gives the best possible treatment outcomes.
The OPG X-ray gives us a panoramic view of the upper and lower jaws. It is used to asses bone levels, impacted wisdom teeth and tooth roots, for orthodontic and implant treatment planning.
The Cephalometric X-ray is primarily used to calculate how the jaw and surrounding bone will be affected by orthodontic treatment.
The CT scanner uses x-rays and a computer to produce 3D cross sectional images of the jaws and teeth. CT scans are essential for the accurate planning, diagnosis and placement of dental implants. The scans measure the depth, density and width of the jaw bone, and more importantly the depth of bone in the proximity of nerve canals and sinus cavities in a 3D view to an accuracy of 0.1 mm
Lasers
The laser is a very precise and powerful tool used to correct gum levels, treat gum disease and stop bleeding. As the beam is highly focused it causes much less trauma, post-operative swelling and discomfort than conventional treatments. We use the highest independently rated laser system imported from the USA.
Painless Anaesthesia – The Wand
Painful and ineffective injections of the past were responsible for many dental phobias. This local anaesthesia delivery system combined with precise and gentle techniques enables us to keep discomfort and stress levels to an absolute minimum. Many of our dentists are also dental phobia experts and cater for nervous patients.
Shade-Matching
X-Rite shade-matching technology helps to accurately record the colour of the natural teeth. This helps our ceramist produce carefully colour-matched miniature works of porcelain artistry.

All our cosmetic dentists at The London Smile Clinic are members of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) of which Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith is a key founder member and Accreditation examiner. Dr Zaki Kanaan is the current president and Dr Andrew Chandrapal is on the board of directors. The BACD aims to promote clinical excellence through continuing professional development. As an affiliate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, BACD dentists are part of the World’s largest organisation of cosmetic dental professionals.
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
The AACD is an international organisation providing a forum for excellence in the ‘Art and Science of Cosmetic Dentistry’. Specific purposes are to support and advance standards of integrity and leadership in cosmetic dentistry; to provide comprehensive and innovative educational opportunities; to encourage and support research in all phases of cosmetic dentistry; and to disseminate information on cosmetic dentistry to the profession and the public. We regularly attend their scientific sessions in the US and Tim is Accredited with both the AACD and BACD.

We introduced the Inman Aligner to the UK along with our partners and as a result trained over 3000 dentists to use the device in the UK and overseas. The removable orthodontic appliance with its incredibly rapid results have proven to be hugely popular with our patients. Along with this, other rapid orthodontic treatments, as well as discreet teeth straightening solutions, have seen a huge increase in demand. This led to London Smile Clinic opening a separate orthodontic department with two specialist teeth straightening experts. At present, we carry out nearly as many orthodontic treatments as cosmetic dentistry, with teeth straightening being a big part of cosmetic smile makeovers.
