Dr Pratik Sharma
Pratik graduated from Guy’s Dental Hospital in 1999 with a distinction in dental surgery.
He divides his time between London Smile Clinic and working as a consultant and senior clinical lecturer at Royal London hospital.
As a registered orthodontic specialist, Pratik has extensive experience using the full range of orthodontic systems to treat simple to advanced cases. He especially enjoys providing effective yet discreet treatment with tooth-coloured fixed braces, behind-the-teeth lingual braces and Invisalign clear aligners. Dr Sharma is also highly experienced working with maxilla-facial surgeons on complex osteotomy cases.
Pratik is a prolific author on orthodontics whose articles have appeared in peer-reviewed journals. He also speaks and lectures on the subject at international conferences and events.
In 2020, Pratik was awarded the prestigious B.F. and Helen E. Dewel Award for clinical research from the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. He is also a recipient of the British Orthodontic Society’s Chapman Prize.

Restorative Pre-alignment
As a specialist orthodontist within a restorative practice we have huge experience at pre-aligning teeth prior to further restorative treatment;

Ceramic Braces
The days of metal ‘train tracks’ are definitely a thing of the past. Ceramic braces are a low-visibility alternative to metal braces. These braces can be used to provide the full range of orthodontic treatments but with much better strength and wear resistance than composite brackets.
Invisalign
Invisalign uses a very high-tech manufacturing process to make a series of removable clear aligners which makes them almost invisable. Invisalign can straighten teeth over a slightly broader range of cases than the Inman aligner but still cannot be used for severe crowding. Treatment times are typically from 6 to 18 months.
Lingual Braces
We offer a range of different lingual braces including Incognito, Harmony and the Win system. These are similar to conventional brackets that are bonded to the inside of the teeth so they are invisable to others. Treatment times vary depending on case type typically 6 – 24 months.
Orthognathic Surgery
For patients who present with disproportions in facial growth, facial asymmetry, malocclusion and function. We work closely alongside the orthognathic consultant surgeon to correct and enhance the position, aesthetics and function of the jaws, teeth and overlying soft tissues.
