The following pages feature highlights of this interview.

Why are Brits not as fussy about their teeth as Americans?

The average Brit might have a different idea of what the perfect smile is, and what is acceptable from an American, but there are still an increasing number of us seeking help to improve our smiles. Even in America there is more of a demand for something more natural than the dead straight and opaque white Hollywood smile. Dentists in the states call this the European look. Strangely enough at the London Smile Clinic we call it the 'London smile' and it's a look we've been developing for years.

What is this 'London smile'?

The 'London smile' is clean and bright but still with all the features such as realistic shapes and surface texture and translucency at the tips to make the teeth look natural and believable, and gives an incredibly confident smile. When our clients smile others will compliment them on their teeth not ask them what they've had done.

What's the typical cosmetic dental treatment?

Some people may only be seeking to make minor improvements whilst others might want a total smile makeover. Whitening for dark or discoloured teeth, but for people with other problems this just isn't enough. Porcelain veneers are the most usual treatment. They can be used to close gaps or align crowded or protruding teeth.

Is it expensive?

Well it depends on how much treatment is required and costs vary from one dentist to the next. Some treatments can be quite expensive but for those people who are unhappy to smile or show their teeth it's worth every penny.
