June 08 - London Smile at BACD conference in Edinburgh.

In June, 3 of our dentists Dr Bradstock-Smith, Dr Russell and Dr Rhode attended the 3 day dental conference in Edinburgh that focused on developing detailed understanding of bite function and jaw joint disease and how it is related to treatment in cosmetic dentistry. "An excellent multidisciplinary learning experience with lots of useful information we can put into practice come Monday morning" said Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith

May 08 - London Smile at AACD in New Orleans

In May, four of the London Smile Clinic team attended the American Acedemy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) annual conference held in New Orleans this year.

This conference is the number one educational meeting for cosmetic dentistry. Many of the world's foremost educators presented lectures and hands-on courses over a five day event.

Dr. Tim Bradstock-Smith's AACD accrediation was formally recognised and he was presented with a plaque at the Gala dinner. Tim is the first Brit to receive this award for over ten years and can be seen proudly celebrating his achievement with team members, Caroline and Sheneen above.

April 08 - Welcome Dr. Manrina Rhode, Dentist

This month we welcome Dr Manrina Rhode to the team. Manrina is an experienced cosmetic dentist who received her Masters in Aesthetic Dentistry at the prestigious New York Dental Institute.

She is also a committee member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a media representative for the British Dental Association.

Mar 08 - Welcome Dr. Mariam Motamed, Orthodontist

This month we welcome Dr Mariam Motamed to the London Smile Clinic team. Mariam is an experienced Orthodontist who qualified in 1990. Mariam is currently the only UK dentist to have received a formal qualification in Lingual Orthodontics, A Diploma from Paris V University. Lingual Orthodontics are fixed braces that can achieve all the orthodontic movements that conventional fixed braces, but they are bonded to the inside of the teeth so they are not visible!

Mariam can also use conventional fixed braces, Inman Aligners and Invisalign when required.

Feb 08 - AACD Accreditation

As we announced at the end of last year, Dr. Bradstock-Smith recently received British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) Accreditation but now he has also received the highly prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Accreditation as well.

Dr. Bradstock-Smith was awarded "Accredited Member" status by the AACD in recognition of his excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith is the only UK dentist to achieve AACD accreditation in the last ten years. Dr. Bradstock-Smith is also the only dentist in the UK to hold both BACD and AACD accreditation.

Nov/Dec 07 - BACD Accreditation

British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) Accreditation is the first and only formal recognition of excellence in cosmetic dentistry in the UK.

At the end of November 2007, Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith was one of the first to become an Accredited Member of the BACD

Oct 07 - We Welcome Some New and Old Faces to The Team.

Dr Zaki Kanaan

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new implantologist Dr Zaki Kanaan to the London Smile Clinic.

Zaki qualified from Guys Hospital in 1996 and has a Masters Degree in Implant Dentistry from the largest Medical and Dental School in the UK, the GKT Institute.

Zaki also has a Diploma In Dental Sedation, as well as in Hypnotherapy. He is a member of both The American and British Academies of Cosmetic Dentistry and also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology in the UK.

Kristelle

We welcome our new hygienist Kristelle to the team. Kristelle qualified in 2005 from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London and is great at putting anxious patient at ease. Kristelle will be with us four days a week from Tuesday-Friday.

Kassie

And finally Dr Doris Huang's assistant Kassie has returned from maternity leave after giving birth to a baby boy called Harry.

Aug 07 - New service The Inman Aligner - "The 12 Week Wonder Brace"

The London smile clinic is proud to introduce a new cutting edge procedure, the Inman Aligner. Set to take the UK by storm, the Inman Aligner can straighten front teeth in a fraction of the time of conventional orthodontics. The Inman Aligner is a removable appliance that applies continuous gentle pressure which quickly aligns crowded front teeth. The initial treatment can be completed in 8-12 weeks. Minor crowding can be corrected in 8 weeks or less. As the Inman Aligner is removable, it can be removed to eat and to clean the teeth.

Aug 07 - Saturday Opening

As an additional service to our patients we are now able to offer Consultation and Hygiene Appointments on some Saturdays. Our opening hours will be 10:00am until 4:00pm and consultations are by prior appointment only. Please call the clinic for more information or to arrange an appointment.

July 07 - Touch Screen Customer Satisfaction Survey

June 07 - Podcast

Featured on Elixir magazine online, Dr. Tim Bradstock Smith of the London Smile Clinic talks about the important of the gum lift as part of cosmetic treatment.

May 07 - New Laboratory Area

This month we have completed our long awaited in house laboratory. The lab is situated in the back of house area within the practice and will enable us to create more whitening trays and night guards on site with a quicker turn around time. With the installation of our model trimmer we will also be able to create excellent quality study models to help with our smile design techniques.

April 07 - Fun Photo Shoot Day for London Smile Cinic's clients

In April we held a photo shoot for our new brochure and website. The shoot was held in the Brixton based studios of celebrity photographer Steve Double. Steve has snapped many famous faces including the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Denzil Washington, Eminem and Vinnie Jones to name but a few. Steve’s professional and relaxing demeanour helped us get the best from our models who all are actual patients of ours. Make-up and hair were styled by Amanda Furlonger.

The day long shoot was a relaxed affair with champagne and plenty of laughter.

January 07 - Introduce New Finance Options

October 06 - New Technology

Much old dentistry can generate variations in tooth contact causing unstable posturing of the jaws which can cause tooth wear, chewing muscle or jaw joint problems and pain.

We now screen all our new patients for jaw joint problems with the JVA. We also use the T-scan to pick up on uneven tooth to tooth contacts with more accuracy than ever before. Take a look at the Technology section for more details.

September 06 - New Dentist

In September, Dr James Russell joined the London Smile Clinic team. James is a talented and accomplished cosmetic and restorative dentist. He passed his Masters level in cosmetic dentistry in Palm Beach, Florida in 2005 and is on the board of directors of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

August 06 - New Treatment Room

In August we added a fifth treatment room in the room previously occupied by our photo studio. We have now installed a new photo studio area in the rear lobby, making ingenious use of the available space with a ceiling mounted studio lighting system. Our hygienists, Sharron and Bonnie, now occupy the new treatment room, vacating their old room to make way for a new dentist.
