Problem: This client was unhappy about the excess of gum she showed in her smile as well as having short teeth with a few gaps.
Solution: We carried out a gum lift procedure on ten upper teeth to raise the gum levels which reduced the amount of gum displayed and lengthened the teeth. We then placed ten porcelain veneers to create a beautiful, natural smile.

When it comes to cosmetic dentistry, it’s a fair assumption that our clients’ number one priority is the aesthetics of their teeth. But it is not enough for teeth just to look good. For comfort and longevity, they must be built into a stable bite that has even and protective contacts between teeth in the full range of chewing movements.
Much old dentistry can generate variations in tooth contact causing unstable posturing of the jaws which can cause tooth wear, chewing muscle or jaw joint problems and pain.
We now screen all our new patients for jaw joint problems with the JVA*. We also use the T-scan* to pick up on uneven tooth to tooth contacts with more accuracy than ever before. (* see below)

T-Scan
This sophisticated device provides much more useful information about your bite than any other technique. Traditional bite recording paper will only mark where there are contacts between teeth. The T-Scan not only shows where the contacts are but how hard they are and the order in which the contacts occur. This offers a level of precision in developing and adjusting a stable bite that was previously unachievable.
JVA (Joint Vibration Analysis)
This is an elegantly simple device that can quickly give us precise and detailed information about the health of the jaw joints (temporomandibular joint or TMJ). Jaw joint problems sometimes make noises you are aware of such as pops or clicks, but also low level noise that you won't be able to hear. Accurate diagnosis of these problems is essential in planning the correct approach to treatment.
