Dr James Russell has been selected to be the official dentist for the third series of Channel 4’s controversial, but extremely successful, Embarrassing Bodies. His advanced knowledge of general dentistry, coupled with his award winning cosmetic skills meant James was ready for anything that came through the door!
During this series Dr Russell treated a wide range of problems ranging from snoring to extreme smile makeovers.
Extreme Tooth Wear and Yellow Teeth
Problem: Extreme tooth wear.
Solution: Porcelain veneers and crowns
Richard had extreme tooth wear. He was embarrassed by his worn, yellow teeth and avoided smiling and photographs at all cost! On top of being self-conscious he was also in severe pain as some teeth had been worn through to the nerve!
In Richard case there was only 1 solution, he needed a full mouth rehabilitation using porcelain veneers and crowns. The very back teeth were restored in gold to be able to withstand the large forces that Richards grinding creates. Where the wear was into the nerve root canal treatment was painlessly provided by our Endodontic (root canal) specialist, Dr Michael Sultan.
The result was just as we planned, Dr James Russell restored Richards teeth back to their former glory. He now not only has a great smile but his health and function are under control too, ensuring he will be grinning for years to come.
