BACD - British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

All three dentists at The London Smile Clinic are members of the newly formed British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) of which Tim is a key founder member. The BACD aims to promote clinical excellence through continuing professional development. As an affiliate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, BACD dentists are part of the World's largest organisation of cosmetic dental professionals.

American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

The AACD is an international organisation providing a forum for excellence in the 'Art and Science of Cosmetic Dentistry'. Specific purposes are to support and advance standards of integrity and leadership in cosmetic dentistry; to provide comprehensive and innovative educational opportunities; to encourage and support research in all phases of cosmetic dentistry; and to disseminate information on cosmetic dentistry to the profession and the public.

We rely on the AACD as our most relevant and up-to-date source of information, regularly attending their scientificsessions in the US and analysing their quarterly journal.

Evidence-Based Dentistry

Evidence-based dentistry is a fundamental ethic that involves staying up to date through continuing education and choosing only the approach to treatment, the techniques and those materials that have been proven to be the most appropriate and successful through scientific research. We firmly believe in evidence-based dentistry and recommend this approach to all dental practitioners.

Study Group

Our study group provides a forum for our dentists to learn and compare notes on all the latest developments. We regularly meet to review latest research, discuss individual cases and agree a consensus regarding the best clinical techniques.
